Role Overview:

As Motion Designer and Editor, you will play a key role in bringing Formula 1’s stories, partners and campaigns to life through industry-leading video content. Sitting within F1’s Digital Video team, you will combine creative design, motion graphics and editing expertise to create engaging content seen by millions of fans around the world. 

In this role, you will transform creative concepts into visually compelling content, producing high-quality motion graphics and video edits that support Formula 1’s branded content initiatives across digital and social platforms. From developing style frames and motion assets to editing final content for distribution, you will be involved throughout the creative process and have the opportunity to make a direct impact on how Formula 1 communicates with its global audience. 

Working closely with Senior Producers, Producers, Motion Graphic Designers, Editors and wider stakeholders, you will help shape creative solutions that meet both brand and platform objectives. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two projects are the same, combining strong creative instincts with technical expertise to deliver content that is innovative, engaging and visually outstanding. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented motion designer and editor who is passionate about creative storytelling, digital content and Formula 1. You will be someone who enjoys bringing ideas to life, staying ahead of industry trends and continually pushing creative boundaries to deliver best-in-class content. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality motion graphics using Adobe Creative Suite for Formula 1’s branded video content. 
  • Develop visually engaging creative assets that support digital, social and branded content campaigns. 
  • Create 3D motion graphics when required using Blender, Cinema 4D or similar software. 
  • Edit, grade and audio mix video content to a professional broadcast and digital standard using Adobe Premiere. 
  • Work closely with Senior Producers and Producers to interpret creative briefs and deliver content that aligns with brand objectives and platform requirements. 
  • Support the development of branded content projects from initial concepts, storyboards and style frames through to final delivery. 
  • Contribute creative ideas and design approaches that enhance storytelling and audience engagement. 
  • Support content production during Formula 1 race events from the Media & Technology Centre in Biggin Hill when required. 
  • Ensure all content complies with Formula 1 brand guidelines, policies and procedures. 
  • Stay up to date with developments across Formula 1, identifying stories and moments that can be translated into engaging content. 
  • Keep pace with emerging editing techniques, software developments and content trends across digital and social platforms. 
  • Maintain organised project structures, media management processes and version control to support efficient production workflows.

Experience 

Prior to the role it would be essential that you: 

  • Have a minimum of three years' experience designing and editing video or social media content. 

  • Have strong experience creating motion graphics and video content for digital platforms. 

  • Have experience managing projects from concept through to final delivery. 

  • Be confident working within brand guidelines whilst maintaining creativity and innovation. 

  • Have experience delivering high-quality content in a deadline-driven environment. 

Some desirable experience that you may bring to the role: 

  • Experience designing and editing branded content. 

  • Experience creating content within motorsport, sport or entertainment environments. 

  • Experience producing content for large digital and social audiences. 

  • Experience working with 3D animation and motion design workflows. 

Qualifications 

Not essential to be successful in the role but you may also have the following qualifications: 

  • Qualification in Media Studies or a related discipline, with a focus on TV, digital media or post-production. 

  • Additional training in motion design, animation, editing or digital content production. 

Knowledge & Skills 

Prior to the role it is essential that you demonstrate: 

  • Expert knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, Illustrator and Photoshop. 

  • Strong motion design and animation capabilities. 

  • Excellent video editing, grading and audio mixing skills. 

  • Strong understanding of Formula 1 and the wider motorsport landscape. 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 

  • Proficiency with Blender or equivalent 3D software. 

  • Broad knowledge of current digital video production techniques, content trends and platform requirements. 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to creative excellence. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining quality and accuracy. 

  • Understanding of efficient media management, project organisation and workflow processes. 

Some desirable knowledge and skills that you may bring to the role: 

  • Knowledge of JavaScript Expressions. 

  • Experience working with Cinema 4D or additional 3D software packages. 

  • Understanding of branded content production and commercial content delivery. 

  • Knowledge of current production equipment and emerging creative technologies.
