In the Global Bank tribe, we are building the infrastructure and core services needed to provide our merchants with a digital bank account that allows them to do mobile banking simply. Our goal: be the top banking partner for small merchants globally by offering a tailored, high quality and affordable banking experience easily managed from our SuperApp.

We are looking for a hands-on Mobile Engineering Manager (iOS) who will lead a squad of engineers who own the mobile banking features in the SumUp Super App. The team is focused on delivering the most impactful user-facing features, both global and market-specific. You will help shape the technical vision and strategy for the iOS App, and contribute to building and maintaining strong developer relations inside the mobile chapter. You’ll support our engineers to reach their full potential, mastering their current skills and developing new competencies to advance their personal growth. 

What you will do:

  • Lead and mentor a chapter of talented iOS engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. 
  • Drive the development and maintenance of SumUp's iOS Bank application, ensuring scalability, security, and delivery of an exceptional user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute on the product roadmap.
  • Oversee the technical direction, architecture, and best practices for iOS development within Global Bank.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to meet business objectives.
  • Continuously improve development processes and methodologies, advocating for automation testing, and code quality.
  • Stay current with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure SumUp remains at the forefront of mobile payments innovation.

You will be great for this role if you have:

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role within an iOS/Mobile development team.
  • Extensive experience with native app development in Swift and have worked on mobile applications of similar complexity to SumUp’s Super App.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Experience promoting best practices for testing and driving automation initiatives to ensure high-quality, efficient testing processes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in iOS development and a commitment to continuous learning.
