OVERVIEW

As a Mid-weight Designer, you will bring 3-5 years of experience within an integrated agency environment and the capability to work collaboratively on a broad range of creative projects. Your expertise will span the development of key visuals, 2D and 3D POS, experiential environments, and the creation of comprehensive toolkits, presentations, and pitch documentation. Working closely alongside senior designers, art directors, copywriters, and account teams, you will translate strategic ideas into compelling visual solutions, ensuring consistency, craft, and attention to detail across all outputs. You should be a proficient user of Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator.

REPORTS TO: Senior Designer/Design Group Head

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working across a range of brands and clients, provide great design solutions for client briefs for print media, working to deadline and on budget.
  • Take briefs from concept to completion working from scamp stage and client presentations, right through to producing finished design
  • Produce slick designs that fully answer the brief with clear rationale, across all platforms including, Direct mail, brochures, POS and experiential.
  • Work collaboratively with other creatives on pitches.
  • Take responsibility for your remit within a project in terms of design integrity, deadlines and keeping within budgets. Foresee any issues, ask questions and act appropriately. Manage Account Handlers expectations with professional diplomacy.
  • As a team member, liaise with line managers and Creative Services at all times on status of job progression. Demonstrate commercial understanding, including cost implications of different routes, the time scales required for different types of work and plan time accordingly. Assist with cost estimates and allow for outside suppliers if necessary.
  • Work collaboratively to contribute to idea generation.
  • Have a basic understanding of photography and be able to assist an Art Director in achieving the desired result both on location at a shoot and when briefing a visualiser.
  • Understand the relationship between type and image. Consider image possibilities, experiment with photography and graphics. Push the boundaries with typographic skills, introducing, investigating and experimenting with new fonts.
  • Have an understanding of the clients, their brands and the market sector, ensure brand guidelines are adhered to.
  • Practice presentation skills in order to present work to both internally and externally in an articulate and confident way appropriate to Haygarth.
  • Keep abreast of latest design trends and industry innovations and share with the wider team.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring your own work is produced to a consistently high standard.

EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS

  • Relevant design experience in creating design/marketing projects.
  • Ability to show stylistic versatility and attention to detail, design excellence and good commercial understanding.
  • Fully proficient user of Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, InDesign and advanced Photoshop skills.
  • Proven capabilities with both design for print and digital.
  • Be able to produce finished presentations to a high standard.
  • Awareness of Cinema 4D is desirable but not essential.
  • Extensive design experience and an excellent understanding of delivering exciting and innovation design solutions ranging from brochures, POS and integrated marketing campaigns.
