Key Responsibilities
Network Configuration & Administration
• Configure, deploy, and maintain network hardware, including Arista switches/routers and Ubiquiti (UniFi) enterprise wireless/switching systems, FortiGate devices.
• Implement and manage VLANs, subnets, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and VPN connections.
• Perform routine network maintenance, firmware updates, and security patching.
Documentation & Architecture
• Create, maintain, and regularly update detailed network topology diagrams and infrastructure documentation (using tools like Draw.io, Lucidchart, or Visio).
• Document IP allocation schemes, hardware inventories, port configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Procurement & Vendor Management
• Create and track Purchase Requests (PRs) for hardware, software, licenses, and general IT/network equipment based on incoming internal requests.
• Coordinate with vendors and distributors to obtain quotes, evaluate specifications, and ensure timely procurement of IT equipment.
Monitoring & Operations
• Monitor network performance, availability, and bandwidth utilization to ensure maximum uptime.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex L2/L3 network incidents and connectivity issues.
• Assist the IT Helpdesk and System Administrators with escalated network-related support requests.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in network and systems administration.
- Solid understanding of core L2/L3 networking concepts and protocols (VLANs, STP, OSPF, and basic BGP fundamentals).
- Practical experience with Linux server administration (Ubuntu, Debian, or RHEL) and hypervisor management using Proxmox VE (deploying and maintaining VMs, LXC containers, and host networking).
- Experience administering enterprise firewalls (preferably FortiGate or similar NGFW).
- Hands-on experience with standard network platforms (e.g., Cisco IOS/NX-OS); strong willingness to learn and work with Arista EOS and UniFi.
- Proven ability to handle Tier-2 network/systems support, perform routine infrastructure maintenance, and troubleshoot standard outages independently.
- Nice to Have Certifications: CCNA or LPIC-1 / Linux Essentials, Arista ACE, or Fortinet NSE 4 is a plus.
- Exposure to managing enterprise Wi-Fi environments (UniFi, Cisco, or Aruba).
- Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python) or experience with Ansible for server/network management.
