We are seeking a Middle Java Engineer to provide technical support and system optimization for our client’s smart fridges. This role focuses on troubleshooting, monitoring, and ensuring the smooth operation of backend systems. You’ll collaborate with service technicians and internal teams to resolve issues and implement automation for recurring challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- System Support (9 AM - 5 PM CST, Mon-Fri):
- Monitor and respond to Slack messages in designated support channels.
- Assist service technicians in diagnosing and resolving issues with smart fridges.
- Analyze system behavior to identify root causes and suggest fixes.
- Document troubleshooting procedures and provide feedback to improve system processes.
- Optimization & Maintenance:
- Monitor system performance using AWS services like CloudWatch Insights and AppSync.
- Ensure the reliability and efficiency of backend systems, including Redis and DynamoDB.
- Recommend and implement optimizations to improve operational workflows.
- Collaboration & Troubleshooting:
- Work closely with service technicians to understand hardware and system issues.
- Provide technical insights to address recurring problems and minimize downtime.
- Stay up-to-date with system functionality and tools to offer effective support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3 + years of experience in backend development or a related field
- Experience with Java
- Knowledge of Python
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems and tools such as curl
- Familiarity with AWS services, particularly CloudWatch Insights and AppSync
- Experience with databases like Redis and DynamoDB
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technicians and internal teams
- Familiarity with hardware systems and troubleshooting hardware-related issues would be a plus
