Role Overview

We are looking for a talented Mid-weight Designer to join our Creative team, reporting to the Design Director. This is an opportunity to take real ownership of creative work for one of our key clients, developing ideas and bringing them to life across a wide range of channels and formats. From digital and social content to editorial, presentations, event branding and print, you’ll work across varied briefs and see your creative work through from initial concept to final delivery.

The role will primarily focus on a key client operating within the oil and energy sector, alongside opportunities to support projects across our wider client portfolio.

We’re looking for someone with strong creative instincts, excellent design craft and a sharp eye for detail – someone who can take a brief, develop a compelling creative response and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced agency environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creative Development: Develop creative concepts that respond to client briefs and bring brands to life. Your work will span digital and print, editorial, social media, presentations, event branding and collateral, image retouching and more.
  • Concept to Delivery: Take projects from initial ideas and creative exploration through to final execution, balancing strong creative thinking with excellent attention to detail.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Design Director, Junior and Senior Designers and teams across the agency to deliver cohesive, integrated creative work.
  • Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings, creative reviews and presentations, helping to understand briefs, present ideas and develop work in response to feedback.
  • Brand Consistency: Create fresh and engaging work while ensuring that every execution remains true to the client’s brand and visual identity.
  • Fresh Thinking: Stay curious about design, culture, technology and emerging creative trends, bringing new ideas, inspiration and approaches into your work.
  • Mentorship: Share your knowledge and experience with Junior Designers, providing guidance, feedback and support to help them develop.
Skills & Experience Required

You’ll have experience working at Mid-weight Designer level, ideally within a creative agency, sports marketing environment or similarly fast-paced creative team.

Most importantly, you’ll have a strong portfolio demonstrating excellent design craft, creative thinking and the ability to develop ideas across a variety of formats.

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong skills across Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Excellent typography, layout and visual design skills
  • Strong image editing and retouching capabilities
  • The ability to take a brief from initial concept through to finished artwork
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of execution
  • Confidence communicating your ideas and explaining the thinking behind your work
  • The ability to manage multiple briefs, priorities and deadlines
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with both creative and wider agency teams
  • The ability to understand client needs and translate them into effective creative solutions

Experience with motion graphics, animation or video editing would be an advantage, but isn’t essential.

  • Flexible hours with core working hours between 10am – 4pm
  • Discretionary bonus scheme
  • Gym & Retail Discounts
  • Enhanced Employer Pension contribution
  • Mental Wellbeing Day & Volunteer Day in addition to annual leave
  • Sabbatical Leave in conjunction with long-service
  • Employee Assistance Programme

After successfully passing probation:
