Job Description

Role: Food Trading Manager

Location: London, hybrid working 

Employment Type: Permenant

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Food Commercial team as a Food Trading Manager.

In this critical role, you will support the Senior Trading Manager in identifying and prioritizing trading actions to optimize performance and mitigate risks to the budget.
The Food Trading team plays a key role in ensuring we hit our commercial targets by effectively managing our weekly menu and launching new initiatives to drive the profitable growth of our food proposition.
You will collaborate with multiple teams, including Food Development, Food Operations, Buying, Marketing, Insights, Analytics, and Digital Product, to bring these initiatives to market, making a tangible impact on the success of our business.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior Trading Manager to identify new trading opportunities by analyzing customer needs, monitoring the competitive landscape, and evaluating the performance of current trading initiatives
  • Develop detailed scopes and launch plans for new initiatives, which may include pricing strategies, promotional activities, marketing and communications efforts, digital product enhancements, or new range development
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of new initiatives, coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing timelines, and ensuring approvals to deliver high-quality execution on schedule

Who You Are

  • Energized by a fast-paced e-commerce environment, you excel at managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines to achieve results
  • Possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to derive insights from data. You are comfortable working with metrics like traffic, orders, average order value (AOV), conversion rates, and margin
  • A natural collaborator with excellent communication skills, you can influence and align cross-functional partners effectively
  • Results-oriented, you have a keen eye for commercial opportunities and are driven by the measurable customer and business impact of your work
