A bit about the role …

You will drive excellence in onboarding, training and development across operational meetings and events teams globally. You will partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure all meetings and events team members receive the skills, knowledge and support required to deliver exceptional client experiences. You will promote best practice learning programmes, support operational excellence and help shape the long-term training strategy for our meetings and events teams.

What will you be doing …

Training and Development:

· Lead the onboarding plan for all new hires, ensuring a structured transition into teams and client accounts

· Create and deliver skills training programmes for our meetings and events team members across operational, client and leadership capabilities

· Create and manage the global meetings and events training plan, calendar, communications and training priorities

· Support teams with critical training needs, providing hyper care and tailored development support where required

· Guide and train line managers on skills development, team training requirements and coaching best practices

· Record and maintain all meeting and event training activity and attendance records for audit and reporting purposes

· Ensure all team members complete required training across client, company, soft skill and technical skill areas

· Monitor employee retention trends, providing recommendations and action plans linked to training and development

· Partner with Directors of Meetings and Events, Vice President of Operations, Director of Talent Acquisition, Head of Meetings and Events (UK and Europe) and Head of Meetings and Events (US) to shape and deliver the wider training strategy

· Ensure all training is adapted for in-person, remote and global audiences

· Conduct onboarding check-ins and ongoing development reviews with team members

· Work with the People team to align operational training with wider company learning projects

Stakeholder Support and Operational Excellence:

· Partner with Directors of Meetings and Events, Vice President of Operations, Director of Talent Acquisition, Head of Meetings and Events (UK and Europe) and Head of Meetings and Events (US) and the People team to identify development opportunities and training gaps

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver client and business objectives

· Develop and maintain standardised onboarding resources, SOPs and training materials

· Support operational teams with company systems, technologies and financial process training

· Support succession planning and career pathway development across meetings and events teams

General:

· Champion a positive learning culture

· Understand, apply and promote our mission, vision and values

· To stay up to date in the industry with the latest thinking in event management

· Shape and prioritise own workload to meet goals and deadlines

· Be an ambassador for the agency

· Keep up to date with trends in your client industry sector and the meetings and events industry, by reading trade journals and attending relevant forum

· Autonomous in your daily role

· Comply with all company and client procedures, including Health & Safety and privacy protocols

· Apply an understanding of compliance requirements, including ABPI and PhRMA guidelines

· To be mindful of environmental sustainability in all aspects of your role and incorporate this mindset in your approach

What do you need to have …

· Meetings and Events experience with 7+ years' corporate meetings and events experience within an agency setting

· Previous experience in training, onboarding, learning and development

· Experience developing and delivering engaging training programmes for varied audiences

· Stakeholder management and communication skills

· Experience supporting employee development, retention and performance improvement

· Excellent organisational and project management skills

· Confidence working across remote, in-person and global teams

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning/training systems

· Motivator and professional team member

· Positive and authentic

· A focus on accuracy, detail, consistency and dedicated to customer service

· The flexibility and desire to travel between our offices in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, London and Manchester to deliver training and attend meetings is essential with occasional travel each year to do the same in our Philadelphia USA office

· Live within a commutable driving distance (within 1 hour) to work out of one of our UK offices (Ashby-de-la-Zouch, London or Manchester) a minimum of twice a week whilst the remaining three days can be worked remotely
