What you'll be doing;

  • Assist Maintenance Engineer with proactive and reactive maintenance tasks to meet facility KPIs

  • Perform hands-on maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of equipment and mobile plant

  • Monitor and supervise contractors while adhering to site safety rules

  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to prevent equipment breakdowns

  • Support health and safety monitoring, including inspections and meetings

  • Manage calibration records and implement instrument calibrations

  • Maintain plant performance through equipment adjustments and settings

  • Contribute to the development and review of maintenance procedures and risk assessments

  • Participate in planning and executing outage maintenance work

  • Utilise management systems (e.g., INFOR, MoC) to track modifications, schedule maintenance, and maintain service records

  • Be available to be called in during emergency situations and plant breakdowns when necessary.

  • Carry out tasks safely and efficiently, and in accordance with the risk assessment and method statement, and comply with Veolia Safety Rules at all times.

  • Demonstrate compliance with the VMR Toolkit standard.

  • Maintaining a tidy work environment.

  • Understands and meets the expectations and responsibilities of the role.

  • Reporting unsafe/non compliant behaviours.

Qualifications & Experience;

  • Recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering

  • Technical qualifications - City & Guilds / NVQ (or equivalent)

  • Mechanical experience, 2 years minimum and good understanding of the basic fundamentals of the various utilities systems.

  • Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems.

  • Work within a Computerized Maintenance Management Work Order system environment.

  • Work within a documented Permit to Work System

  • Computer literate

  • Ability to read and understand P & ID's.

  • Understanding of SOP's and GMP Engineering systems.

  • Understanding of Basic Instrumentation

  • Experience on the following: Pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems and ancillary services, (DHW skids), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems.

  • Must be able to demonstrate hands-on experience with detailed knowledge/skill in the following area's: Team player, Attention to detail, Methodical & analytical approach to work.
    Good problem solving and trouble shooting ability. Good Initiative and pro-active attitude in approach to duties
