We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support the creation, development, and maintenance of complex mechanical designs and CAD data, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams. This role is suited to a proactive and capable engineer with strong experience in 3D CAD, a solid understanding of GD&T, and the confidence to contribute to technical discussions while continuing to develop their expertise.

RequirementsResponsibilities:

CAD Design & Ownership:

  • Take responsibility for CAD design and associated data for assigned components and assemblies, with support where required.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models of parts and assemblies (NX preferred).
  • Produce high-quality 2D production drawings in line with ASME standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain CAD and engineering assets within the PLM system (Teamcenter or similar).
  • Contribute to CAD design solutions for technical challenges across multiple projects.

Engineering & Analysis:

  • Apply a sound understanding of GD&T, materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrate awareness of stress analysis principles and their impact on design decisions.
  • Support simulation or analysis activities (mechanical, stress, thermal, or fluid) where required.
  • Ensure designs align with aerospace regulatory standards where applicable.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical discussions.
  • Work closely with internal teams, external partners, and manufacturing personnel to ensure clear understanding of design intent.
  • Support liaison with operations during part manufacture, helping to resolve design issues and update drawings as needed.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Ideally 3–5+ years of industry experience
  • Proficient user of 3D CAD (NX preferred)
  • Good understanding of GD&T (ASME)
  • Experience with Teamcenter PLM or similar systems
  • Knowledge of materials, finishes, and relevant manufacturing processes (including additive manufacturing)
  • Experience with fuel-cell-related systems (advantageous)
  • Capable of producing high-quality CAD models and mechanical drawings
