About the Thesis Project

The aim of this thesis project is to develop an automatic method for selecting the best images from our satellite archive to generate a 3D model.

When creating 3D models , we have access to a vast collection of images, spanning several years. However, our goal is to ensure that the resulting 3D model represent the current state of the world as accurately as possible.  the challenge lies in determining which images are best suited, based on factors such as:

  • Viewing angle and visibility
  • Image resolution
  • Temporal changes, including seasonal variations and constructions

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a Master’s student who is currently pursuing a degree in the field of image processing and/or computer vision, with a strong interest in software development and algorithm design.

What We Offer

  • A chance to work hands-on with cutting-edge technology
  • A supportive, inclusive, and innovative environment
  • The opportunity to contribute to making our 3D product more up-to-date and visually realistic
  • A project based on software development, algorithm design and algorithm comparison

The project will be carried out on location at Vantor’s office in Linköping, Sweden.
