Role Description
Shape the future of mass transit across the UK with Arcadis. As a Technical Director / Project Director, you will play a pivotal role in growing our Mass Transit business, partnering with public and private sector clients to deliver innovative tram, metro, light rail and rapid transit systems. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader to drive strategy, build relationships, and deliver projects that support economic growth, decarbonisation and inclusive mobility throughout the UK regions.
Role Accountabilities
- Lead the expansion of Arcadis’ Mass Transit capability across UK regions, aligned with client priorities and investment programmes
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with Local Authorities, Combined Authorities, transport bodies, contractors and delivery partners
- Identify and secure new opportunities, from early engagement through to bid leadership and contract award
- Provide technical and sector leadership, offering credible insight and challenge to clients and internal teams
- Collaborate across Arcadis’ multidisciplinary teams to shape and deliver integrated solutions
- Nurture and support high-performing, inclusive teams, fostering professional growth and a positive team culture
Qualifications & Experience
- Established expertise in Mass Transit, gained through involvement in tram, metro, light rail or rapid transit programmes
- Strong professional network within Local Authorities, transport clients and/or Tier 1 contractors and delivery partners
- Proven ability to develop, secure and grow work in a consultancy or professional services environment
- Credibility and presence at Technical Director / Project Director level, with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders
- Collaborative, inclusive leadership style with a commitment to developing others and building diverse teams
