About the Role:

 Cell Press is looking for a Marketing Transformation Lead to help shape the next phase of our marketing evolution. As our portfolio continues to grow, our focus is increasingly on optimization, effectiveness, and innovation—ensuring that our marketing capabilities, technologies, and talent translate into faster execution, stronger outcomes for authors and researchers, and clear business impact. 

The role will lead cross‑functional initiatives to improve marketing efficiency and scalability, driving the practical adoption of AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, accelerate campaigns, and strengthen insight and measurement. Support innovation and portfolio growth by scaling author marketing and content reuse initiatives, improving collaboration with central teams, and establishing consistent pe rformance and ROI monitoring across the marketing organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional marketing transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness. 

  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes across marketing teams. 

  • Drive the adoption of AI and emerging technologies to accelerate campaign development, improve targeting, and strengthen insights. 

  • Support innovation programs that contribute to Cell Press portfolio growth, including Project SHINE initiatives and new launches. 

  • Scale initiatives such as author-centric marketing programs and content reuse strategies. 

  • Strengthen collaboration with STMJ marketing and centralized resources to improve operational efficiency. 

  • Establish consistent measurement and monitoring frameworks to improve visibility of marketing performance and ROI. 

  • Support the development of scalable processes and ways of working across the marketing organization. 

Requirements:

  • Experience in marketing operations, marketing transformation, marketing strategy, or programme management

  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across teams and functions

  • Demonstrated experience delivering process improvements or operational change at scale

  • Familiarity with marketing technologies, automation, data analytics, or AI‑enabled workflows

  • Ability to influence and drive change without direct line management responsibility

  • Strong strategic thinking, operational excellence, and data‑driven decision‑making capabilities

  • Experience working across marketing, digital, product, and technology‑adjacent functions
