JOB PURPOSE
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing effective marketing strategies and campaign plans for an international trade exhibition(s) and conference(s). Using traditional and innovative marketing techniques, the Marketing Manager will support the drive to attract visitors, delegates, exhibitors, sponsors, and press.
The Marketing Manager will also put forward ideas, develop new initiatives and apply their B2B marketing experience, to enhance and develop marketing activity.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Contribute to all aspects of event marketing activity, ensuring best practice marketing techniques, and communicating a clear promotional message
• Strategy & Planning: Develop exhibition, sponsorship and visitor marketing and communications plans, in accordance with event marketing strategy
• Strategy & Planning: Develop dedicated marketing campaigns to promote key industry/growth sector areas, including AI, hydrogen, and climate technologies
• Email Marketing: Campaign planning and management of email marketing across exhibitor, sponsor, and visitor campaigns. Includes message development, copy writing and automation. Become an expert in what constitutes an effective email campaign
• Social media: Develop social media plans and content across multiple social channels, and develop strategy to drive social engagement and growth
• Reporting: Utilise analytics to report on campaign results and identify areas for improvement
• Website: Manage audits and update website to continually improve content and user journey; apply SEO knowledge and work with SEO agency to fulfil site optimisation
• Digital advertising: Work with digital marketing agency to monitor PPC campaigns; create campaign briefs and deliver digital assets
• Marketing collaterals: Lead copy writing, design and production of exhibition, sponsorship and visitor marketing collaterals; manage event App
• Advocacy: Manage advocacy program for exhibitors to encourage stakeholder advocacy; manage exhibitor marketing manual
• Sponsorship: Work with sponsorship team to fulfil agreements
• Data: Manage data segmentations to support communications plans; support in identifying data gaps and new data acquisition
• Marketing administration, including proof reading, delivering advertising copy, responding to enquiries, monitoring competitor activity etc.
• Provide onsite support to ensure the smooth running of marketing-related activity (i.e. communications, temp staff, placement of materials, photo and video)
 
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
Marketing qualification is advantageous.
Minimum Experience: 2 years’ marketing experience
Job-Specific Skills:
• Experience in the use of databases in targeted direct marketing campaigns
• Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, including: MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with and relate to all levels both within and outside the organisation
• Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Copy writing
• HTML proficient
• Analytical skills

• Be trustworthy, professional and reliable
• Demonstrate good teamwork with co-workers/peers
