About Us

Playstack is the multi-award winning premium indie games publisher. In both 2024 and 2025 it received the GamesIndustry.biz Best Places to Work Award.

Playstack believes in the power of creative vision and the people behind it. From breakout hits such as Balatro, Abiotic Factor, and Mortal Shell, to critically acclaimed gems such as The Case of the Golden Idol, we champion originality, innovation, and the diverse voices that make games extraordinary.

With many new exciting games on the horizon, there’s never been a better time to join us on our journey.

About the Role

Playstack is expanding its operations into the Chinese market. To help Playstack grow as a global publisher, we are seeking an experienced Marketing Manager. The role will be based in our London office, connecting you with our internal team as well as our China-based PR Agency.

The successful candidate will have the knowledge and ambition to ensure every Playstack title that’s suitable for the China market launches harmoniously. This is an all-encompassing marketing role that will draw on your experience localising artwork and store text, repositioning games and brands to appeal more directly to the China market, as well as finding the ideal platforms and partners through which we can amplify our games’ reach.

The successful candidate will bring with them an instinctual knowledge of the best strategies for a winning go-to-market campaign into China, and should be experienced enough to educate the existing marketing team on best practices.

You’ll be supported by a world-class multilingual publishing team that has launched some of the most successful premium indie games of the past five years.
The role is deeply collaborative with key connections across the business. The successful candidate will meet daily with our in-house teams who work across video editing, PR, social media, influencer marketing, production and more. Beyond this, the right candidate will lead discussions and strategies with our China PR Agency.

Essential: Experience launching at least two premium indie games in China. Must speak and write Mandarin fluently; native speakers preferred. Have a solid understanding of the Chinese PC and console games market.
Highly desirable: Existing business connections in China and experience driving local publishing and marketing partnerships in the region. Based in the UK, commutable to London.

We welcome everyone — and especially encourage talent from underrepresented groups in gaming to apply, even if you don’t meet all the criteria.

Who You Are
  • A game marketing professional with a great understanding of the Chinese gaming landscape and its unique market dynamics.
  • Proficient in Mandarin, either as a native speaker or business level of proficiency.
  • Proven experience in game publishing and marketing, ideally with PC indie experience.
  • Exceptionally organized and proactive, comfortable using organisational tools such as ClickUp or Jira to manage multiple moving parts.
  • A strong communicator and collaborator who thrives working in inclusive, cross-functional teams, and coordinating with external partners.
  • Passionate about games and motivated to help indie games thrive

At Playstack, we’re proud to be building a culture where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered to contribute. As a testament to this commitment, we’re thrilled to share that—for the second consecutive year—we’ve been recognized with the GamesIndustry.biz Best Places To Work Award.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, proud to celebrate diversity and provide equal opportunities for all — regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or background. We especially welcome applications from women, Asian professionals, and people from underrepresented communities in gaming.
