Marketing Data Insight Analyst

Bupa Place, Salford Quays M50 3SP hybrid – min 2 days per week in the office

Permanent

Full time 37.5 hours per week

Salary £41700 - 52100 depending on experience

Job purpose

You’ll join the Database Marketing Team (DBM) in the Bupa Group UK Market Unit, working closely with UK Insurance, Health Services, Bupa Dental Care, Bupa Global and Care Services Business Units (BUs).

You’ll be working as part of our agile delivery squad who’re focused on marketing campaign data to deliver a range of analytical products, including updating and adding to the existing marketing data model, identifying and unlocking hidden insights, creating dashboards and reports.

You’ll have the opportunity to engage with business team leaders and lead on creating valuable, re-usable data assets that empower our colleagues to make better informed decisions, whilst supporting the democratisation of our data.

How you’ll help us make health happen

You’ll support the delivery of key initiatives, data assets and projects, working with the DBM and BU teams ensuring they are understood, tasked and delivered within time and resource.

Responsibilities include

  • Clarifying & documenting business data definitions and business requirements
  • Supporting the creation of star schema data models
  • Training colleagues in the best-practice use of the data assets created
  • Extracting actionable insights which internal customers can understand and use
  • Giving tactical recommendations to help internal customers meet their goals
  • Quantifying value delivered to internal customers
  • Creating insightful dashboards and reports
  • Supporting the Senior Management and various functions of the marketing function with outputs to support the squad’s agreed deliverables, including requirements documentation, gap analysis, impact analysis, data definitions, sizing and value assessment.
  • Questioning and challenging existing business data definitions and processes based on insights from findings
  • Communicating results of your work to internal customers, drawing out the ‘so what?’
  • Developing collaborative relationships with other Bupa agile delivery squads and internal customers
  • Championing data best practices, provide regular honest feedback and identify opportunities to improve Bupa’s data analytics operating model

You

  • A have-a-go approach with relevant hands-on data analysis experience gained in a commercial organisation
  • Experience of managing the development and delivery of a data product for an internal customer and establishing and monitoring KPIs to measure value delivered
  • Experience with data languages such as SQL, DAX and knowledge of Snowflake are essential
  • Awareness of relational database structures, principles, and practices.
  • Collaborative team player, able to work autonomously and prioritise work in an agile squad in a fast-moving environment.
  • Flexible to embrace change, an analytical problem-solver with the skillset to develop clear insights for the business.
  • Understanding of Cloud technologies, development approaches, tools and techniques.
  • Experience of project management methods e.g. agile, waterfall, Scrum would be ideal.
  • Experience with data visualisations tools such as Power BI would be great.
