Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace. We share the collective intelligence and risk sharing expertise of the market’s brightest minds, working together for a braver world.

Our role is to inspire courage, so tomorrow’s progress isn’t limited by today’s risks.

Our shared values: we are brave; we are stronger together; we do the right thing; guide what we do and how we act. If you share our values and our passion to build a future that’s more sustainable, resilient and inclusive, you’ll find a home at Lloyd’s – build a braver future with us.

As the strategic lead for oversight focused activity across an aligned portfolio of Managing Agents and Syndicates, you will build trusted relationships to coordinate the conduct and communication of Lloyd’s oversight both internally and externally for those Managing Agents and Syndicates.  Key to this is developing influential relationships to ensure that Principles Based Oversight is delivered transparently and consistently, in a holistic and joined up fashion. Co-ordinating across multiple teams and functions with subject matter expertise you will ensure consistency in communication, strategy, and delivery, acting as an escalation point for issues and taking accountability for driving solutions.

As a collaborative and influential leader who is able to build trust with C-Suite executives and regulators, often delivering challenging messages and driving resolutions of critical issues, this role is critical to Lloyd’s oversight engagement and resilient oversight model. You will:

  • Be accountable for leading the conduct and communication of Lloyd’s Oversight with Managing Agents/Syndicates, fostering open dialogue and collaborative resolution of key issues. Support the delivery of PBO in line with Lloyd’s oversight philosophy and ensure all parties resolve critical issues quickly, respectfully and openly.

  • As the primary Oversight aligned market contact the MOM will undertake regular interaction at C-Suite and CEO level, and will develop relationships of influence with any other role that is key to the delivery of Oversight.

  • Act as the primary escalation point for critical Oversight issues, taking ownership of issue resolution and proactively identifying patterns where smaller concerns converge into systemic risks. This role is instrumental in safeguarding operational integrity and ensuring timely Oversight led interventions.

  • Strengthen stakeholder trust by fostering transparency and strategic problem-solving. Align internal teams and external market participants to reinforce confidence in Lloyd’s oversight and support solutions that safeguard market integrity.

  • Work in collaboration with the MOM team under the direction of the Head of Market Oversight Management to maintain consistency in communication, strategic approach, and conduct across the overall Managing Agent/Syndicate portfolio.

  • Champion continuous improvement by promoting cohesion across Oversight activities, sharing insights, and constructively challenging internal practices to drive efficiency and elevate delivery standards.

  • Demonstrate commercial awareness of Managing Agents/Syndicates, ensuring recommendations and actions are pragmatic, market-sensitive, and support sustainable growth within Lloyd’s framework.

  • Chair quarterly meetings of the cross-functional working group (“Team Lloyd’s”) for each Managing Agent/Syndicate within the aligned portfolio. Foster insight-sharing across Oversight teams to identify common threads or interdependencies and agree appropriate courses of action. Ensure outcomes from Team Lloyd’s meetings are recorded and escalated appropriately, both internally and with relevant the Managing Agent/Syndicate.

  • Prepare oversight related reporting on the aligned portfolio of Managing Agents/Syndicates to the three decision-making committees governing the key aspects of Lloyd’s market oversight. Respectively: Business Opportunities Committee (BOC) (focused on approval of new entrants), Market Oversight Group (MOG) (focused on supervisory actions taken by Lloyd’s), and Capital and Planning Group (CPG) (focused on approval of syndicate business plans and capital requirements).  Advise Managing Agents/Syndicates promptly of decisions/outcomes and be accountable for the satisfactory resolution of any follow-up actions.

  • Connect Managing Agents/Syndicates to Oversight resources and capabilities to support their profitable growth through the Lloyd’s platform. Share thematic feedback about the strategic needs of Managing Agents with the Head of Market Oversight Management.

  • Ensure effective liaison with the PRA, FCA and other regulators in respect of all matters relating to market Oversight for the aligned portfolio of Managing Agents/Syndicates.
