As our new Market Data Technology Lead Developer you will be joining a fast-moving, industry leading development team working on a cutting-edge market data platform, based on Azure build-out which interfaces with AWS. Zema is our OTS SaaS Market Data System, but we also source data directly and persist them in Zema, and selected data from Zema is pushed to our ETRM & Analytics systems in AWS. As the Technology Lead you will be leading the market data technology team, taking ownership and responsibility of all technical aspects of Market Data – the Zema REST API, Zema Excel Add-Ins and various language interfacing like Python, C#, etc., and you will work closely with senior management, development and support teams.

We embrace ‘flexible first’ as our guiding principle for flexible and hybrid working, which balances work, the team, and the individual need for flexibility. This role is based out of our London office, close to Marble Arch, with individuals required to be in the office 3 days per week.

Role accountabilities:

• Take complete ownership of Market Data systems, including Zema, and other in-house systems, integrations and processes and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, granularity, etc

• Liaise with all upstream and downstream system owners and business units

• Identify and resolve any security, access, network, data, performance and other issues

• Produce high level technical designs and liaise with relevant group Infrastructure, cloud, security and network teams to align with Centrica’s Architectural patterns & practices

• Propose technical solutions and vendor products for business problems and work with project teams to deliver the solutions

• Communicate & co-ordinate system upgrades.

The Person:

​Exceptional commercial experience in using the following:

• C# - exceptional

• Python - intermediate

• Azure & AWS Cloud Services - advanced

• Relational (Postgres preferred) and NoSql Databases - advanced

• .NET WebAPI - advanced

• Object-Oriented Programming - advanced

• Excel VBA, OAuth & REST APIs - intermediate.

Additional experience and competencies:

• Experience of working within a commodity trading or investment banking environment

• Self-starter with a strong ability to multitask and aptitude to learn new technologies

• Exceptional stakeholder management experience

• Used to agile working practices, in a VUCA environment

• Good Problem Solving, Analytical, Communication & Interpersonal skills

• A good team player, able to identify and work on the critical path among conflicting priorities.
