The Market Data Specialist will improve data quality in the Security Master and Corporate Action Management systems, troubleshoot issues, and interface with data providers.
About the Position
We’re looking for a Market Data Specialist to join our Metadata team, working on improving and supporting our internal golden copy Security Master and Corporate Action Management systems. You’ll be responsible for configuring our systems to improve data quality, helping with data cleaning and validation, solving support issues for internal clients, and interfacing with our data providers.
You’ll be embedded into the Metadata Systems Engineering team and will work with software developers, traders, and operations professionals across the firm.
Responsibilities include:
- Investigating data quality and reliability issues
- Interfacing with exchanges or data vendors, raising, tracking, and resolving issues
- Helping us (the Metadata team and internal clients) understand our data better
- Potentially advising on solutions, e.g., changing monitoring
- Configuring internal services/tools and adding overrides
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with financial instrument metadata, especially reference data preferred
- Programming experience in any language and knowledge of SQL or other database language(s)
- Confident in a Linux/Unix command-line-driven environment
- Responsible, organised, and great attention to detail
- Operations, support, and customer-centric experience a plus
- Fluency in English required
