CMC Markets is seeking an experienced Market Data Subject Matter Expert (SME) to take ownership of our global Market Data function.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end management of market data strategy and operations, ensuring CMC continues to extract maximum value from its data investments while maintaining strong commercial discipline, governance, and operational excellence.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Front Office, Product, Technology, Procurement, Finance, and Risk, acting as a trusted expert who can both challenge and optimise how market data is sourced, consumed, and managed.
- Own and evolve CMC’s Market Data strategy, ensuring alignment with business, operational, and commercial priorities.
- Act as the senior point of expertise for all market data matters across the Group.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand usage, identify inefficiencies, and optimise data consumption models.
- Lead vendor management activities, including licensing, commercial negotiations, cost control, and ongoing optimisation.
- Stay abreast of market data vendor developments, pricing models, and industry trends, bringing external insight into CMC.
- Drive delivery from concept through execution, including business case development and tracking measurable outcomes.
- Lead, develop, and support the Market Data team, embedding best practice, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in a senior Market Data role within financial services.
- Strong understanding of the global market data landscape, including vendors, licensing models, and pricing structures.
- Demonstrated success in vendor management and commercial negotiation, with a focus on cost optimisation and value creation.
- Confident stakeholder manager with the credibility to engage and influence at senior and executive levels.
- A hands-on leader who combines strategic thinking with practical delivery.
