We're looking for an experienced Market Data professional who understands how market data is produced, distributed, and consumed inside trading systems.

This role is not about vendor coordination alone. You are expected to understand how data moves from exchanges and vendors into internal systems, how it is used by traders and researchers, and what breaks when things go wrong. You will work closely with trading, development, and infrastructure teams to make sure market data is reliable, appropriate for its use case, and correctly governed.

What you'll do

Data Ownership

  • Ownership & coordination of the full lifecycle of market data: sourcing, delivery, normalization, storage, and consumption.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of how market data feeds into trading systems, research platforms, and downstream processes.
  • Investigate data issues across vendors, feeds, internal pipelines, and consuming systems.
  • Act as the point of escalation for market data problems that impact trading or research.

Trading & Development Support

  • Work directly with traders and developers to understand how data is used, not just what data is requested.
  • Translate trading requirements into concrete market data solutions.
  • Push back on data requests when latency, quality, licensing, or cost does not align with the actual use case.
  • Help teams understand data limitations, edge cases, and failure scenarios.

Vendor, Exchange & Licensing

  • Manage exchange and vendor relationships with a strong grasp of commercial terms and permitted use.
  • Interpret licensing rules in the context of real trading system usage.
  • Ensure data is compliant without slowing down the business unnecessarily.

Governance

  • Manage entitlements, audits, and internal controls for market data usage.
  • Ensure critical data dependencies are understood and documented.
  • Reduce operational and trading risk related to market data failures.
  • Explain technical data issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Who you are

  • 3+ years of experience in Market Data, Trading Technology, Data Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Direct experience working with exchange data and market data vendors.
  • Strong understanding of how market data is used in automated trading and research systems.
  • Strong understanding of different data types & nuances in data quality for example, but not limited to:
    • Tick data vs aggregated data
    • Latency and sequencing issues
    • Data gaps, corrections, and quality problems
    • Symbology and corporate actions
  • Comfortable working with engineers and discussing system behavior and data flows.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Python for analysis, validation, or automation.
