You will focus on learning how our organisation runs and will gain valuable insight that can further your interest in your chosen career field. This position has many opportunities to offer!

We are recruiting for an industrial placement year at our Swindon site for candidates studying for a degree with an engineering bias.

Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on involvement in equipment installation, modification and fault finding.
  • Involvement in problem solving for mechanical, electrical and electronic issues.

  • Ownership of start-to-finish projects with progressive levels of technical complexity as competency and confidence build.

  • Work autonomously to generate, report on and deliver project plans for all engineering activities.

  • Offer opinions to new product introductions on engineering topics to define the activity required to achieve the best results.

  • Interact directly with clients and suppliers, forging strong business relationships.

  • Ensure cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) is applied in all activities undertaken to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Take ownership of the generation and upkeep of engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Ensure standard process approaches are always sought to future-proof, where possible, any applied projects.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably with an engineering bias.
  • Strong project management skills.

  • Able to prioritise engineering decisions and manage priorities within a changing environment.

  • Positive and optimistic approach to work.

  • Maturity and pragmatism with strong organisational abilities.

  • Dynamic, self-motivated, proactive approach to tackling ambitious assignments.

  • Strong project ownership ethic with a “can-do” demeanour.

  • Ability to work within and deliver to critical timelines.

  • Able to complement a wider team, with the self-confidence to ask for help and to convince others to buy into proposals and plans.

Application Process:

Please apply with your CV and cover letter. This is a 12-month placement for a current student returning to study.
