Software Engineering Manager - Couchbase SRE

Site Reliability Engineering team is responsible for pro-active health and maintenance of Capella - Couchbase Cloud Offering. They pro-actively ensure the health of Capella services meeting SLAs/SLOs.

SRE is engaged for the entire lifecycle of service & features, ensuring metrics, monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting and mitigations. SRE is promoting Observability and implementing required Infrastructure and Tooling.

You will lead and manage the Capella Operational Tooling (FM) team and collaborate across the engineering team to design, implement and maintain FM features and capabilities. You will support operations, collaborate with the developers and architects to aid in the design; and assist with the implementation to improve stability, security, and scalability. 

Responsibilities

  • Foster high performance environment, ensuring growth of business and team members
  • Collaborate across Couchbase on business priorities and executions.
  • Build, grow, and mentor team members
  • Strong sense of ownership, encourage and foster a culture of visibility and transparency
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on Design, Coding, and Reviews 
  • Able to troubleshoot issues across the entire software stack
  • On-call rotations & incident management

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (preferably computer engineering)
  • Proficiency with programming and scripting languages like Go, Python, Java, Shell
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with database technologies such as Couchbase, MongoDB, Cassandra

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Experience with  Kubernetes (k8s) & managed (preferably AWS EKS)
  • Proficiency with Databases such as Couchbase is a plus.
  • Working experience on cloud platforms and open source software like Jira, Jenkins, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Thanos etc
