Job Description

Forbes Marketplace is looking for a Paid Search manager to join the Forbes Marketplace Performance Marketing team, focusing on supporting one of Forbes' business verticals. Proven account management is essential to be successful in this role. The position, reporting into the SEM Lead, will help Forbes Marketplace performance marketing across paid search. The ideal candidate for this role will possess a unique blend of managerial skills, the ability to delegate responsibilities to junior team members, and a hands-on approach, eagerly diving into the details to personally contribute to the success of our paid search initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Performance

  • Accountable for achieving the performance targets of your channel 
  • Explaining variance in performance against target to leadership and other stakeholders in management commentary (and in other forums as required)
  • Directing and supporting your team members in determining the optimal tactics and approach to realise the commercial priorities.
  • Define short-term and longer-term strategies and implement them with the support of direct reports. Provide recommendations and execute strategies for keyword and audience opportunities, campaign structuring, targeting, display network, and other areas of paid search to deliver performance goals.
  • Work with your team to develop a testing roadmap for your categories, ensuring wins are rolled out quickly and communicated with the wider team
  • Keep up to date with search engine and PPC industry trends and developments.
  • Utilize data-driven analysis insights, identify opportunities, and make recommendations for performance optimisations. 
  • Review and advise their team on findings from monthly account audits and ensure appropriate actions are being taken on time.
  • Generate innovative ideas to challenge and reshape existing best practices.
  • Build strong relationships with Business Development, working collaboratively to improve and grow owned categories

Capability

  • Directly manage one or more search specialists, providing guidance and performance feedback through regular one-on-one meetings and formal reviews.
  • Establishing a coaching and development mindset in your team and leading by example where appropriate.
  • Determining the mix between short-term commercial BAU and long-term capability development (e.g., roadmap/testing)
  • Delivering or facilitating training and development for your team.
  • Setting OKRs and conducting quarterly reviews for your team.

  • Outstanding ability to think creatively and identify and resolve problems
  • Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline-driven atmosphere

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management, and time management skills

Requirements:

  • Proven 5+ years’ experience in PPC/SEM working on Google and Microsoft ads. At least 2 years of line management experience
  • Proficiency in managing large-scale PPC accounts.
  • Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools, including Google Analytics as well as internal reporting tools.
  • Experience using external competitive research tools such as SEM Rush
  • Proven experience using smart bidding strategies. 
  • You enjoy working in a team environment and look forward to supporting the business to meet required goals.
