Summary/Objectives 

Tanium is looking for talented and energetic individuals to be part of our growing business. The Sales Development Manager will manage a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) focused on driving quality pipeline to the business. In the past year, we have entered our fastest growing segment that presents a massive opportunity for growth minded individuals to not only build a winning business, but to run past their goals. This position will provide leadership and planning as well as coaching and training to drive the very best results for the business. You will be closely aligned with sales leadership, field sales, sales operations, marketing, partners, and alliances. The successful candidate for this role should thoroughly understand outbound activities, modern sales prospecting practices, sales opportunity qualification, and would have a proven track record leading teams in the Technology sector. Demonstration of a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing others is essential, as well as thriving in a rapid change and growth environment.

Essential Job Functions 

  • Drive and participate in the recruitment of the very best talent for the SDR organization 
  • Use best practice sales management disciplines to train, coach and develop the SDRs in close collaboration with our enablement team 
  • Build a team-first, winning culture that focuses on career progression and performance 
  • Be metrics driven – continually optimize SDR processes as well as messaging, cadences, and campaigns for optimal results 
  • Using analytics to help coach, understand, and drive impactful results to the business while maintaining accurate forecasting and reporting 
  • Partner across the business to create and implement SDR programs focused on customer acquisition 
  • Train and manage the SDR team on how to prospect, qualify leads, and exceed goals 
  • Prioritize 1:1's and coaching to develop your teams’ talent to grow into new opportunities at Tanium 
  • Track follow up on daily MQLs, contact us form submissions, live chat inquiries, and other inbound sales-ready leads 
  • Partner with regional sales directors and field marketing to execute cross-functional demand generation in key accounts for our field sales team 
  • Work with marketing and sales leadership to optimize pipeline and revenue creation 

 Minimum & Preferred Job Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a preference for Business or Technology or equivalent work experience 
  • 3+ years of experience managing an SDR or Inside Sales team 
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce, LinkedIn Navigator, Outreach and other best in class tools 
  • Expertise in prospecting and sales best practices 
  • Proven ability to spot talent, hire and grow SDRs to be Sales rock-stars 
  • Be a great coach and have solid people skills to foster a strong team — A natural leader 
  • You are approachable, a natural problem solver, and have grit 
  • Big picture thinking and not content with the status quo
