Job Description

Data is part of the DNA at NBCUniversal, and the Experimentation team plays a large role in driving our data driven culture. We own the technology that enables experimentation and act as subject matter experts to help teams measure the performance of the features and campaigns that customers experience every day. Our work is high visibility as it directly informs product, advertisement, marketing, and editorial decisions.
The Manager, Product Experimentation will be the go-to person for our international experimentation footprint. They will support data driven decisions across several market propositions and stakeholder groups. This manager will scale the institutional knowledge, process, velocity, and complexity of experiments within the entities they manage. This role will operate as the subject matter expert for all things experimentation, including providing stakeholder support on experimentation platform capabilities and analytics dashboards. They will also be responsible to collaborate with broader team to advance the practice across NBCU/Sky DTC overall.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Guide stakeholders through strategy, processes and create playbooks support seamless experimentation
  • Conduct trainings and help manage a center of excellence to foster a culture of experimentation aligned with best practices
  • Support the design and implementation of statistical experiments to test hypotheses and optimize business processes
  • Develop statistical models to analyze complex data sets and generate insights via self-service dashboards
  • Communicate experiment capabilities and best practices to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Work with data teams to ensure data and metrics are readily available to analyzing results
  • Understand stakeholder needs, create user stories, and define requirements to ensure experiments are impactful and help stakeholder teams achieve their goals


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experimentation or data science at an eCommerce, social network, direct to consumer or media entertainment company.
  • Expert knowledge of experiment platforms and scaling hypothesis testing culture
  • Strong understanding of experimental design, statistics, and other analytical concepts for experimentation
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze data using SQL and R or Python
  • Experience using home grown and industry platforms (i.e. Adobe Target, Optimize, split.io, etc.)

  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and drive your own projects
  • A passion for TV and movies and defining the future of entertainment
  • University Degree in technical or quantitative disciple or significant relevant work experience
