The Manager of IT Applications will have responsibility for one large or multiple small/medium sized global business applications. This includes application development and support, application strategies, architectures and roadmaps in alignment with group business needs and the Global IT strategy.

The Manager will plan and coordinate the implementation of these applications in close alignment with the regional IT organizations, business management and any external partners. The function will be responsible for the governance of the solutions and ensure that they maintain their integrity and remain standard group solutions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Partners with business leaders, Regional BEMs, TAO, Cyber Security and Corp. Services to understand business strategies and needs.

• Works collaboratively as part of the larger Strategic Programs team on strategies, initiatives and standards, and cross-team resource.

• Develops application solution strategies, architectures and roadmaps in alignment with business and Global IT management team.

• Works closely with the Global Applications Director to ensure all projects and initiatives are aligned with the business demand.

• Drives implementation of standard group applications and the retirement of local non-group solutions.

• Interacts regularly across departments with managers and project leads to ensure good communication and quality delivery.

• Provides input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams

• Sets measurable objectives and standards for team member’s performance and conduct

• Mentors staff by providing procedural and technical guidance and advice.

• Works with the product management teams to identify new areas of extending the product creating new business opportunities.

• Stays current on industry practices and issues, assessing and communicating their potential impact on the business.

• Assists in the creation and maintenance of reference materials for the application architecture, metadata, support and training.

• Generates and distributes reports pertaining to assigned responsibilities.

• Regularly evaluates processes and make recommendations to improve efficiency.

• Complies with all corporate and departmental policies/procedures and applicable governmental regulations.

• Attends and participates in meetings that pertain to assigned responsibilities.

• Develops & tests software changes outside normal business hours as and when required.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, which may include cross-utilization within the department or with other.

Experience Required

  • 5+ years of progressive IT management experience leading and developing global applications
  • Experience managing multiple projects/teams of 8+ developers or one larger project/team of 15+ developers.
  •  Airline or catering experience is a plus and Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)

Technical Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, SaaS architectures, and integration strategies.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Microsoft 365 and similar SaaS ecosystems.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience with development and testing methodologies, SLA management, and performance tracking.
