The Role & What You Will Be Doing 

The successful candidate will join the Global Portfolio Strategy team and assist in the coordination of the overall Global Portfolio Review process - a business-critical, forward-looking process for the review and approval of new products opportunities, such as Gx, OTC and Brand Life-Cycle Management opportunities, to be adopted into the company’s pipeline.

This role involves working, on a daily basis, with cross functional teams from Regional Portfolio, Scientific Affairs, R&D Project Management, Business Development, Patents, Regulatory, Global Commercial etc.

Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and the Manager, Global Portfolio Strategy role will make an impact through the following responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the Global Portfolio Review cycle, from collection of regional data to the final decision-making governance board call. The process is run using an internal database, which should regularly be reviewed and, if necessary, updated to reflect Mylan’s evolving business requirements

  • Review and amend the materials utilized in the Global Portfolio Review workshops. Aside from the data provided by regions and other departments such as R&D, IP, API sourcing and EH&S, brand product research is also a large part of this process and the candidate will be expected to use databases and additional information sources to develop product summaries.

  • Assist in the coordination of the Global Portfolio Review Workshop calls.

  • Coordinate with multiple teams to follow up on actions from the Global Portfolio Review workshop.

  • Perform financial ratio analysis (NPV, ROI, etc).

  • Prepare the Global Portfolio Review PowerPoint materials with the final product recommendations.

  • To prepare the R&D brief summarizing the Global Portfolio Review Decision-making governance Board decisions and work with the R&D Project Management teams to officially handover approved projects.

  • Perform competitive intelligence using multiple sources to identify potential new global product opportunities and prepare new product summaries.

  • As required, assist in portfolio reviews for geographic portfolio expansion exercises or one-off, dedicated Global Portfolio Review Workshops.

  • When necessary, assist in the preparation of urgent one-off product reviews.

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills, and experiences:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a science-related subject and minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. 

  • Advance English language skills (oral and writing).

  • Knowledge of understanding business processes

  • Proficiency with searching and using databases, both internal and external.

  • A basic knowledge of global patents, data exclusivities and regulatory procedures is desirable, although full training will be provided.

  • A basic understanding of sales information and financial ratios is desirable but training will be provided in the role.

  • Ability to work well with people at various levels and to understand multiple scientific areas

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, in particular Excel and PowerPoint.
