The Role

Kobalt Music is seeking a Finance Manager to join our Global Finance team in London. The Finance Manager will oversee a team responsible for accounts payable activities related to advances and royalty payments, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of quarterly statement payouts and weekly bank reconciliations.

You’ll play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of our operations while supporting ongoing automation and process improvement projects. What You’ll Do
  • Manage a team of two Finance Assistants responsible for processing advances and royalty-related payments for all Kobalt Music Group entities.
  • Review and approve payment runs and vendor requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  • Oversee the processing and review of statement runs for multiple Kobalt entities.
  • Approve AP and bank journals, ensuring accurate and timely postings.
  • Maintain compliance with Kobalt’s financial processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Conduct supplier statement reconciliations and sign off on weekly bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely resolution of finance-related queries by collaborating with Business Affairs, Client Relations, and international offices, including the US and France.
  • Verify client bank details and manage invoice-related communications.
  • Create and review journals, maintaining accurate documentation and accounting records.
  • Lead automation and system improvement projects, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows.
  • Manage foreign currency trades as required, in collaboration with the Director of Treasury.
  • Support the Director of Treasury with ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and process enhancement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring

Preferred:

  • Proven experience managing a payables or treasury function, ideally within a music, media, or entertainment business.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, reconciliations, and control frameworks.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence handling large datasets.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and regions.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and discretion when managing confidential information.

Additional Skills That Could Add Value:

  • Experience using Netsuite or similar ERP platforms.
  • Knowledge of multi-currency transactions and international banking.
    A genuine interest in music, rights management, and digital royalties.

By Month 3: You’ll have developed a clear understanding of Kobalt’s financial systems, approval workflows, and treasury processes.
By Month 6: You’ll be confidently leading the payables cycle, ensuring compliance and accuracy while identifying process improvements.
By Year 1: You’ll be driving automation initiatives and enhancing financial efficiency across multiple entities.

Interview Process
  • Introductory call with a member of our Recruitment Team
  • An excel based assessment (60 minutes)
  • Interviews with the Finance team and hiring manager (45-60 minutes)
  • Interview with Senior Management (30-45 minutes)
  • Culture based interview (30 minutes)
