This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 3 days minimum per week in the office. 

Role:

Join our growing global Marketing team in London to support the expansion of our marketing strategy in EMEA, reporting to the VP, EMEA Marketing. Our team is candid, energetic, and entrepreneurial, and we strive to be the best Marketing organization we can be. Bring your opinions, sense of humor, and expertise and let’s shake things up. 

The ideal candidate is someone who is:

  • Strategic, creative, and entrepreneurial 

  • Experienced at working within a global, cross-functional team

  • Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Public Relations expertise and relationships with key financial journalists across EMEA. Crisis communications experience a plus. 

  • Internal communications experience creating engaging employee events and communications, and campaigns as well as liaising with senior stakeholders

  • Experience implementing successful marketing and advertising campaigns across continental Europe, from out-of-home to search engine marketing and digital display in a highly regulated environment

  • Asset management marketing experience required; specific experience in institutional and high net worth (HNW) clients a plus

What you will do:

  • Work closely with the EMEA VP, marketing communications, and US-based counterparts in brand, external and internal comms to define, refine, and implement HarbourVest’s marketing strategy in EMEA

  • Build and enhance recognition of HarbourVest’s brand and market position in EMEA, with an emphasis on institutional and HNW client segments

  • Support the development and execution of EMEA marketing initiatives and oversee EMEA PR, including managing London and EMEA PR agencies, and internal communications 

  • Support creative campaigns and compelling stories around HarbourVest’s initiatives that resonate with audiences across EMEA; liaise with Boston-based brand team to curate regional stories designed for web and social media

  • Track goals and KPIs for EMEA marketing deliverables and metrics, working closely with cross-functional colleagues 

  • Partner with EMEA Investor Relations (IR) team and investment product specialists to align efforts 

  • Build strong relationships with global colleagues across channels, including PR, Internal Communications, Product Marketing, Digital, Design, Events, and Thought leadership

  • Occasional cat-herding, special projects, and admin

  • And other responsibilities as required

What you bring:

  • Experience with leveraging KPIs to measure success and analyze results to make strategic recommendations 

  • Understanding of the media landscape across EMEA and how to create localized pitches in various markets 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to not take oneself too seriously

  • Great attitude, enthusiastic and entrepreneurial, ability to create and enhance process

  • Skilled at building relationships across an organization including key stakeholders and individuals at all levels of seniority

  • Strong project management skills, including solid organizational skills with attention to detail; able to effectively manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines 

Technical skills:

  • Experience with content management systems, preferably Poppulo (internal communications) and Marketo (external communications) 

  • Knowledge of CRM tools such as Salesforce 

  • Experience using project management tools such as Smartsheet 

  • Understanding of search engine optimization tools such as SEMRush

  • Experience with media monitoring tools such as Meltwater or Cision

Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • 7-10 Years experience in PR, Internal Comms and digital marketing (EMEA)

  • 5-10 Years experience in asset management, financial services, or private equity
