The Role

The Manager, Email Operations & Transformation is a 12-month full-time fixed-term contract position designed to help Condé Nast during a very exciting, transformational time in the email and newsletter space. This is a technical role responsible for BAU email operations – creating, updating, and maintaining email newsletter templates, automated user journeys, email personalisation and testing the email user experience for accuracy – and forward-thinking operational projects that will grow and expand the newsletter channel. This is an opportunity to innovate on the foundation of how email supports all of our brands and markets globally. This role supports email newsletters operationally across 12+ markets and 16+ brands, including Vogue; Architectural Digest; Vanity Fair; GQ; WIRED.
What will you be doing?

  • Manage technical email operations globally across multiple brands and markets

  • Create and update email templates based on brand requests and email strategy, allowing for personalisation, content recommendations, and affiliate commerce optimisation at scale

  • QA email campaigns for clarity, grammar, spelling, link functionality and inbox display

  • Set-up, QA, and launch automated email flows based on custom events, with dynamic follow-up messaging and logic based on user behaviour

  • Follow and enforce email best practices for healthy deliverability and active user engagement

  • Enforce brand design guidelines

  • Follow and enforce data privacy protection regulations across the US and all international markets

  • Regularly audit email user experience across all markets

  • Maintain close working relationships with cross-functional teams, particularly editorial, design, engineering, and commerce.

About you:

  • Good experience working in email or a similar role

  • Proven experience working directly in an ESP or marketing automation tool.

  • Sailthru experience preferred, but not necessary if proficient across ESPs

  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced working environment

  • Intermediate working knowledge of HTML/CSS code

  • Strong creative problem-solving skills and innovative thinking

  • Proficiency with Google documents & spreadsheets (or Excel/Word)

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to communicate technical information with non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team

  • Working knowledge of 1st and 3rd party data is a plus
