Job Description

Checkout.com is actively looking for an enthusiastic and talented Manager, Corporate Communications to join our fast-paced Communications and Content team. This role is perfect for an experienced communications professional with 8+ years of experience who is looking to take the next step in their career. Working closely with other communications team members, you will be involved in a wide range of communications activities, including media relations, corporate communications, strategic and crisis communications, agency oversight, editorial ownership, and more. You will be comfortable managing multiple projects, delivering high-quality editorial output to a range of media targets, working with your team members to orchestrate high-impact communications-led campaigns, land top-quality media coverage, and acting as communications counsel to your peers across the business.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Media relations and pitching: Strategic pitching to target media outlets, building and maintaining relationships with key journalists and influencers to secure relevant coverage

  • Content creation: Draft high-quality written materials, including press releases, bylines, and briefing documents for spokespeople

  • Press Office management: Support the day-to-day operations of the press office, fielding inbound inquiries, organising interviews, and ensuring timely responses to media requests

  • Awards and recognition: Support our awards and list pitching strategy, identifying relevant industry accolades, drafting compelling submissions, and managing deadlines

  • Analytics and reporting: Maintain our analytics and reporting programme, using data to measure success and inform future PR strategies

  • International: Support the wider marketing team and communications strategy by providing guidance and oversight on international PR agencies and strategies

  • AI and agentic workflows: You will have a strong handle on how to use AI and agentic workflows to maximise your output, pace, and quality, recognising the value of the human pen and AI’s broad support in modern corporate communications

What we're looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience in a corporate communications or public relations role, either in-house or at an agency - ideally 5+ years of experience

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a proven ability to run PR strategies, craft press releases, bylines, and pitches that capture attention

  • Proven experience in high-impact media relations, with a track record of successfully pitching stories to trade, business, or technology publications

  • Strong organisational and project management skills, specifically in handling busy press office operations and coordinating awards programmes

  • A data-driven mindset with experience using PR analytics and reporting tools to measure campaign impact

  • A collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to support senior team members and juggle multiple PR priorities in a fast-paced environment
