JOB TITLE: Manager

SALARY: From £65,385

LOCATION(S): Chester, Leeds or Manchester

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

About the role

This is an opportunity to join the Consumer Lending (CL) Chief Controls Office, where you will help shape how our business manages their risk and controls.

We have implemented a new operating model for non-financial risk management across Lloyds Banking Group, empowering our people to take end-to-end accountability for leading the risks they face. This transformation is reshaping our approach to risk and control management. We are building a team of control and data specialists to support risk and control owners to deliver great customer outcomes.

This Manager’s role within our Chief Controls Office is focussed on driving risk reduction and control improvements. You will deliver data-led insights by identifying important trends in risk exposure and control deficiency. Using root cause analysis you will address underlying issues, optimise our risk and control environment, and embed best practice. A desire to grow, focus and change is critical to success in the role.


What you’ll need …

We’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team, with a focus on control assurance and identifying patterns in risk and control issues to drive process excellence across Consumer Lending. This role is pivotal in supporting the Group’s risk strategy and delivering change through data-driven insights and automation.


You’ll need experience in …
  • Root cause analysis using structured methodologies to identify recurring issues and drive sustainable control improvements.
  • Delivering data-driven insights by conducting reviews and deep dives into risk and control trends across the business.
  • Working closely with business stakeholders to address underlying issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Tools like PowerBI to generate actionable insights from control data sets.
  • Communicating findings and recommendations effectively through storytelling and visualisation.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation to drive engagement and adoption.

It would be great if you also have …
  • Strong knowledge of Consumer products such as car finance, credit cards, loans, mortgages.
  • An understanding of data analytics and visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI) as well as AI tools.
  • Conducted research considering multiple perspectives to enable analysis of key themes.
  • Familiarity with Group policy frameworks and governance.
  • Solid understanding of risk strategy and its application in operational environments.
  • Hands-on experience with process automation technologies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to present complex information clearly.
