Bid Management at Checkout.com
Checkout.com is actively recruiting for a Bid Manager to join our well regarded RFP Management team in London. We are seeking an individual with demonstrable payments experience, and experience in either bid management or a related field. This could include being part of pre-sales, marketing or commercial teams involved in business development/account management.
You’ll have the chance to work on exciting opportunities across our global markets (Europe, USA, MENA and APAC), covering all of our group companies and products, contributing to the ongoing success of the Commercial organisation and Checkout.com’s broader success story. This role will report to the Director of RFP Management, who is seeking a robust, capable and commercially-minded individual to join our friendly and established team; supporting the global commercial function by managing RFx activity across the group.
This role requires payments industry knowledge, strong attention to detail, a continuous improvement and quality-first mindset, and a passion for leading bid teams through to successful RFP outcomes. You will have a front-row seat to some of the most exciting RFPs in the world of payments. If this role interests you and you’re looking for a career in payments, then look no further!
What you’ll be doing:
- Expert end-to-end management of RFx projects, including review of customer requirements, formation and management of the bid team, and the creation and delivery of best-in-class RFP response packages.
- Identification of customer pain points, development of value proposition and win themes during the bid capture phase, and subsequent incorporation of these into the bid strategy and RFP response.
- Collaborate with and manage internal stakeholders and partners, including commercial, marketing, design, technical, product and functional teams including legal, compliance, information security etc.
- Generate high-quality, persuasive business development materials which create a compelling case for the prospect.
- Proactive and seamless management of your own workload, with multiple deadlines and workstreams.
- Act as the single point of contact for all types of RFx (including RFI, RFP and due diligence questionnaires),
- Support other bid teams on high-value pitch opportunities.
- Drive best bid practice throughout each RFx submission, and act as a bid champion.
- Support with back office tasks and ad hoc bid practices (including maintenance and continuous improvement of the bid library and our collateral).
- Supporting sales with presentation stages of RFP opportunities.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience within competitive tendering (bid/marketing/technical) or within the payments industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (native English or high proficiency) with an ability to write compelling content to an international audience.
- Excellent eye for detail and driven by quality.
- Strong team player with the ability to support and lead as required.
- Highly organised self-starter with the ability to prioritise shifting workloads and tasks effectively.
- Experience in expert stakeholder management, and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to translate technical jargon into straightforward, influential business development content.
- A strong team player with a can-do attitude and proficiency in problem-solving.
- Expert cradle-to-grave bid and/or project management.
- Proven commercial awareness.
- Bid champion with a passion for winning RFPs.
- Proficiency in G-Suite, MS Office and RFP software platforms.
