Overview
Based in Manchester, the Management Accountant plays a key role in the accounting operations of Crosslake’s EMEA region. The role requires proven robust experience in applying the foundations of accounting principles across the P&L and balance sheet, including international arrangements and in support of the annual financial audit.
The Management Accountant reports to the Financial Controller and works closely with our accounting teams in both EMEA and North America. Responsibilities include owning key workflows within the delivery of timely and accurate financial reporting and contributing to the function’s continuous improvement environment around financial controls and working practices.
Working in an agile and changing environment, the role entails a broad range of accounting and reporting activities, as well as investigative and analytical skills. The role is a key contributor to maintaining a culture of continuous improvement in the function, in pursuit of durable and scalable processes within a growing, evolving business.
Expected Results
- Prepare and deliver key components of timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
- Drive to completion allocated responsibilities within the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journals (accruals, prepayments, and adjustments), and lead on intercompany accounting activities across the EMEA region.
- Manage the implications of intragroup arrangements and foreign exchange accounting, arising through interactions with North America and in accounting for the French branch
- Own and maintain supporting schedules for key balance sheet accounts.
- Analyse financial performance against budget and prior periods, identifying trends and variances to support informed operational and commercial decision-making
- Work with the Accounts Assistant to ensure correct cost allocations of teams and suppliers, across cost centres and client projects. Prepare analysis of client project costs and staff utilisation, partnering with client delivery teams to support broader business improvement.
- Maintain and pro actively strengthen compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Contribute to the function’s continuous improvement culture in the pursuit of business scaling and working process efficiencies and automation
- Assist with quarterly VAT preparation ahead of review and submission.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors during the financial audit process.

Skills & Qualifications
- Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting role, demonstrating a strong grasp of accounting fundamentals, ideally within an international or multi-entity business.
- A strong motivation to progress towards full qualification.
- An understanding of month-end close processes.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. lookups, pivot tables).
- Experience using financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and multiple deadlines.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
