The role
This is an exciting time to join the ASG finance team. We are a B2B SaaS company owned by Zoopla Property Group. We are on a journey that will see us become a standalone company, and being private equity owned we will be working towards an exit process. This role will work closely with our colleagues in the broader ZPG group.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will be responsible for the month end reporting including full ownership of the management accounts for all Alto Software Group (“ASG”) entities. Key responsibilities will be running the end-to-end billing process, reporting on staff costs and all overhead costs, as well as capitalised costs. The individual will be a primary contact with the Commercial Operation, Sales, and Credit Control teams on billing queries. This role will also support the Commercial Finance team, gaining great commercial experience and exposure.
The role will be involved in ad hoc projects which will provide great exposure as well as it being highly visible to the senior Finance leadership team members.
Key responsibilities:
Management Accounting
- Ownership of the end-to-end billing process, ability to reconcile large volumes of data between different sources within the tight billing timeframe
- Primary contact on billing and revenue questions raised by Commercial Operations, Commercial Finance, Sales and the Credit Control teams
- Ensure anything outside normal billing process will be billed in accordance with timetable and correctly
- Ownership of ASG management accounts, including responsibility for calculation and posting of revenue and cost-related adjustments at month-end
- Responsible for the calculation of capitalised staff costs (intangible software)
- Balance sheet reconciliations for all ASG entities
- Working with the ASG finance team and Finance Systems teams to improve month end reporting processes and billing processes
- Supporting / mentoring Finance Assistant on junior management account tasks
- Complete monthly Royal Mail returns, and quarterly VAT returns
- Assist the Finance Manager with the preparation of the year end statutory accounts for ASG’s legal entities
- Assist the Finance Manager on ad hoc projects, including corporate restructuring and set-up of new finance systems
Commercial Finance
- Ownership of the commission model, setting targets, calculating payments and collaborating closely with sales teams
- Partnering with the Commercial Finance team on revenue reporting
- Assist the Commercial Finance team with ad-hoc projects, including supporting with budgeting and forecasting of financials and KPIs to drive strategic decision-making
Essential skills
- Qualified accountant, 2+ years PQE
- Effective stakeholder management skills with experience of working with operational and commercial sides of the business
- Experience of working in a fast paced and demanding environment
