Your opportunity

Strategic Account Executives are responsible for leading the sales efforts, developing the relationships, making the sale and retaining the business within the largest named new and existing accounts here at New Relic. They are supported by an Solutions Consultant. 


What you'll do

Ensures the achievement of sales goals – to include evaluating current business and new sales opportunities, developing strategy to achieve targets and developing and executing action plans

  • Serves as the key contact and liaison between New Relic and their clients during the initial sales process, and will often close large, complex deals
  • Manages multiple relationships and decision makers within accounts, interacts at the “C” level within organizations, leverages relationships with peer organizations for references and negotiates multi-product high revenue contracts 
  • Identifies new business opportunities within named accounts through evaluating their position in the industry, researching and analyzing strategies
  • Maintains an executive presence, and possesses the ability to articulate ideas that will add value to a client
  • Rules of Engagement
    * SAE will focus on New Relic product sales to named new logo and named existing accounts
    * SAE owns and manages the sales process from opportunity stage to closed won/lost
    * At Closed Won sales stage (100%), the SAE will continue to manage the customer with support from the SIS and CSM teams

This role requires

  • Extensive experience in a quota-carrying sales experience as an account owner at a software/technology company
  • Track record of tenacity and driving results with a sense of urgency
  • Track record of closing multi-year and subscription-based SaaS deals
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships based on advising on quality or manufacturing insights, best practices and strategy
  • Excellent leadership and strong ability of working with and indirectly managing sales support colleagues
  • Viewed as an expert in domain by accounts
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
