The opportunity

Are you a strategic manager with a passion for engineering and problem-solving? We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our HVDC System Design project execution office. This team is responsible for the electrical design and functionality of HVDC converter stations, with a focus on high-voltage systems. As Engineering Manager, you will guide a team of engineers in delivering high-quality results on time. You’ll set the technical direction, drive innovation, and ensure compliance with industry standards across areas such as steady state main circuit design, insulation coordination, transient design, harmonic design, modes of operation and RAM/FMEA/FMECA.

How you’ll make an impact
 

  • Ensure your portfolio of HVDC projects is executed with high quality and on time.
  • Build a strong and independent team of HVDC System Design engineers.
  • Foster a culture of personal ownership and doing what is right.

  • Be an advocate of our engineering digital transformation, making sure the state of the art tools are in place and properly used.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Your background

  • You hold a university degree in Engineering (Electrical or Power Systems preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in power engineering field, preferably within HVDC.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in managing people (manager, mentor, senior engineer etc.)
  • You have a general understanding of electrical power systems and its equipment’s.
  • You encounter your problems – and your teams problems – with a practical engineering mindset and actively ensure that problems are solved.
  • Ability to develop and maintain healthy working relationships.
  • Proven communication skills and fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience as a System Design Engineer within HVDC is highly advantageous.
