Join us as a Macro Portfolio Optimization Vice President

  • This role will see you delivering ongoing lifecycle management and transaction structuring, validation, and execution activities across the Relationship Banking Portfolio within the Private Finance Banking Book.
  • You will develop, guide and execute structured transactions, working with clients, coverage bankers, external advisors, and teams across NatWest Markets and Corporate & Institutional more broadly to meet client and C&I objectives.
  • You’ll enjoy significant variety as well as the opportunity to expand your network with exposure to senior business leaders.

What you'll do

Collaborating with Coverage/Sales and Trading & Portfolio Management across the UK, US, and EU, you will execute lending transactions, risk mitigation trades, and portfolio optimisation strategies to support clients while managing internal resource budgets and financial objectives. You will play a key role in structuring European transactions as a subject matter expert and help monitor the performance of assets and compliance against triggers on a deal-by-deal basis, identifying and escalating any red flags.

In addition to this, you will:

  • Support the transaction execution and lifecycle event activities including coordinating internal approvals, negotiating with clients, and organising documentation.
  • Analyse and review potential transactions, including key risks inherent in lending products and structures, as well as undertaking quantitative analysis, and scenario calculations.
  • Work with key stakeholders, and leverage AI and technology solutions to further develop and enhance portfolio management tools and processes.
  • Develop proposals, ideas, and structures for risk and capital management for clients in collaboration with client-facing teams, Trading & Portfolio Management, and Syndicate in line with NatWest Markets risk appetite.

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone with experience in a front office or middle office role, including the origination and/or portfolio management of banking book loans. You’ll have well-rounded knowledge of lending products, loan market technicalities, and banking regulations.
