Summary of our opportunity
You will be responsible for supporting portfolio companies in their inorganic growth strategies. This role involves ensuring that these companies have efficient origination processes and teams to identify and execute high-value acquisition opportunities. You will work closely with senior management and investment teams. Impact will be measured through value driven for the various stakeholders.
The position will focus on portfolio companies from Europe and Mid-Market Funds with a current portfolio of ~50 companies. The position will be based on London, reporting to the Head of the Investment Office.
Primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
Strategic Leadership
Ensure portfolio companies have the right processes and teams in place for M&A activities.
Push and challenge companies to optimize their origination and execution strategies.
Transaction Support
Assist in the origination of acquisition opportunities where possible.
Monitor and report on the progress of M&A activities at the company level.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, advisors, and portfolio company management teams.
Leverage your network across Europe to identify and support acquisition opportunities.
Key Requirements/ Qualifications
You will have demonstrable experience of:
Extensive experience in M&A with private equity funds but more importantly Corporates.
Proven track record of successful deal origination and execution.
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
Nationality and fluency in two or three languages, English ideally combined with French, German, or Spanish.
