Job Type: Fixed Term Contract – 12 months initially

Please note: initially 4 days are required in the office for training, then hybrid working arrangements can be discussed with the manager.

Although based out of Crawley, travel will be required up to once a month to other Thales sites including Templecombe, Glasgow and Belfast when required.

Working hours: Full time Monday to Friday (8 hours Mon-Thurs and 5 hours Fri) or Mon-Thurs (9.25 hours a day)

We are seeking an organised and analytical UK Logistics Controller on an initial 12-month contract to join our Logistics team in Crawley. You’ll play a key role in supporting the transformation and continuous improvement of our UK supply chain operations. Reporting to the Head of UK Logistics, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners, including 4PL providers, to ensure seamless logistics processes, accurate KPI reporting, strong data-driven decision making, and effective resolution of operational challenges—contributing to overall performance and operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities:

• Facilitate and support Industrial Supply Chain transformation with local teams

• Regularly interface with our 4PL including transport and local logistics teams on any queries or issues that may impact Thales

• Responsible for the 4PL’s and Logistics KPI’s reporting pack monthly to the Head of Logistics

• Support the review and approval of change requests for additional services or contractual changes

• Responsible for audits at the National Distribution Centre

Ideal Experience & Skills:

• Experience working in a Logistics role within a 3PL or 4PL

• Ideally worked in logistics within a Defence related organisation

• Knowledge of logistics and freight distribution lifecycle

• Experience in data analysis and reporting

• Cross-functional collaboration skills

• Competent user of IT systems including Excel and knowledge of ERP systems

Security Clearance Requirement: UK Eyes only

Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires you to be a UK National and achieve Security Clearance (SC) without any caveats. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. If approved by the MOD, a dual national from a non-ITAR country may be considered.

To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
