Purpose of the Job:

The logistics controller will be responsible for owning the logistics strategy for their relevant business units. This will include running the Monthly Business Planning process to calculate demand, considering all relevant factors i.e. promotions, launches, seasonality, life cycle management, managing the risk of obsolescence and minimizing the impacts to working capital. The Logistics Controller is the interface between Commercial and Operations teams, including working on the business units' behalf with the production facilities outside of the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Constantly monitor and review stocks to ensure inventory levels are maintained within target but also avoid stock out occurrences.
  • Liaise with the various production plants and Supply Chain Group on supply/ production challenges and continuous improvement opportunities/ plans
  • Liaise with the LSP regarding booking in, QC release and order expediting
  • Receipt stock and process stock movements on M3
  • To maintain the stock balance reconciliation schedule • Generate the monthly Stock Obsolescence Provision required, maintain 'Bad Goods' schedule and circulate to BU Heads / Finance
  • Manage the destruction of stock as required due to returns/ damages / stock provision analysis
  • Compile Forecast Accuracy report monthly and circulate to BU's for review and comments, consolidate for Management review
  • Compile Monthly stock (Top 10 MOH) reports for Head of Finance / BUs
  • Create the stock master annual PO in M3
  • Any ad hoe stock management duties
  • To take a proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovation in all aspects of the job
  • To develop and implement changes and improvements in ways of working
  • Any other duties the Company may reasonably require. Always having full regard for the department’s competitiveness, efficiency and general viability
  • Maintain appropriate stock related master data
  • Support all relevant quality and regulatory requirements
  • Support MBP process with Demand Plan Accuracy and Demand Plan Bias data
  • Enter demand forecasts into TXT and work with pants to ensure supply matches demand

Profile Requirements and Competencies: Key Skills / Experience Required:

  • Pharmaceutical/Medical Device experience (Desirable)
  • Previous stock management experience
  • Demand planning experience
  • Understanding of basic stock related KPis such as OTIF and Days / Months Inventory on Hand
  • Previous experience of dealing with an external Logistics Service Provider (LSP)
  • Good level of competence in Microsoft Excel
  • Problem solving in an operational environment
  • Able to work to timescales and under pressure
  • High level of accountability and a 'can-do' attitude
  • Ability to work independently or as part of the Commercial, Logistics, Supply Chain & Customer Service Management team to meet deadlines that might involve working outside of contracted hours
  • Self-starter who is energetic and proactive
  • Experience of working in and contributing to a continuous improvement environment
