Role Description:

As a Linux & Data Platform Administrator (SAS Environment Support) at Capco, you will contribute to the administration, configuration, and evolution of SAS environments (SAS 9.x and Viya) used by our clients in the Financial Services sector.

You will work on Linux/Unix systems that support SAS workloads, carrying out activities such as package installation, service configuration, environment checks, scripting, and performance troubleshooting. You will collaborate with architects, developers, DBAs, and security teams to ensure proper integration of SAS with databases, infrastructure components, and enterprise ecosystems.

You will support environment updates, patches, platform improvements, and participate in incident analysis and issue resolution. The role requires solid technical foundations, autonomy in day-to-day operations, and the ability to communicate effectively within cross-functional teams.

As part of the consulting team, the Linux & Data Platform Administrator will:

  • Support operational activities for SAS platforms (SAS 9.x, Viya)
  • Perform system administration tasks on Linux/Unix environments
  • Collaborate on integrations with DBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
  • Participate in troubleshooting, incident analysis, and performance investigations
  • Support update, patching, and configuration activities
  • Contribute to documentation, environment verification, and testing processes
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure smooth platform operations

Skills and Experience

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and system administration
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments
  • Understanding of DBMS concepts and experience interacting with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
  • Knowledge of networking principles, system security, and infrastructure components
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and contribute to problem analysis
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to expand technical expertise
  • Degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM fields

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with Linux in enterprise or consulting environments
  • Exposure to virtualization or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Scripting experience (Shell, Python, PowerShell)
  • Certifications or structured training in OS, DBMS, or Cloud technologies
  • Initial familiarity with SAS platforms (SAS 9, Viya)
