This position is the ideal role for a legal professional who wants to make a direct impact on business operations. You'll establish and own critical processes that directly affect our bottom line and business efficiency. You'll develop your legal and commercial skills while building systems that scale with our company.

As a Legal Operations and Procurement Manager, you will be reporting to the CFO and you will split your time between:

  • Commercial legal support (40%): Reviewing MSAs and SOWs for the deal desk, redlining third-party contracts, standardizing our commercial terms, ensuring legal compliance in sales documents, and supporting the closing process in timely manner.
  • Procurement and vendor management (20%): Support the business with new vendor and vendor evaluations, leading contract negotiations, managing renewal timelines, and optimizing pricing.
  • Non-commercial legal (20%): Managing employment agreements, contractor agreements, NDAs, and other internal legal documents.
  • Scaling legal and procurement systems (20%): Building and implementing contract and vendor management systems, creating standardized workflows and developing procurement policies.

You will work with our existing Legal Counsel who will report to you, and serve as the key point of contact for compliance matters with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

"Bring order to contracts, save money on vendors, and close deals faster" will be your motto.

Objectives - The problems you will solve

In your first month, you will:

  • Complete a comprehensive audit of all existing vendor contracts, identifying immediate cost-saving opportunities and contracts needing renewal.
  • Review our current commercial T&Cs and identify areas for standardization and simplification.
  • Shadow the deal desk to understand their workflow and pain points related to MSAs and SOWs.

After 2 months, you will:

  • Implement a centralized contract management system for tracking all commercial and vendor agreements.
  • Create standardized templates for common commercial agreements and negotiation silver bullets (for most frequently negotiated items) that reduce redlining time.
  • Establish a structured process for vendor evaluation and selection.

After 12 months, you will:

  • Reduce our procurement (software, services) costs by at least 10% through strategic negotiation and vendor consolidation, with specific targets of 5% on renewals and 20% on new acquisitions.
  • Process 80% of commercial agreements within the same business day of receipt.
  • Implement a proactive vendor management program that ensures optimal pricing and service levels with 100% contract compliance tracking.
