A Day in the LifeAre you ready to shape the future of financial operations for Diabetes International? The Diabetes business is becoming an independent, publicly traded company, with a clear focus on innovation, operational excellence, and growth in diabetes care. As Legal Entity Controller, you will ensure as of Day 1 (Initial Public Offering (IPO)) the completeness and accuracy of statutory financial statements, act as a trusted partner for management on local financial compliance and accounting matters, and collaborate with Financial Shared Services to resolve accounting issues and optimize financial processes for your entities. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the financial integrity of a dynamic, international organization.
This role is based in Spain, with flexibility for hybrid or remote work. You will report to regional controllership and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure financial compliance and operational excellence. Occasional travel may be required to support business needs.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial statements for the legal entities assigned to you in both US GAAP, as well as the local GAAP ledger
  • Act as a business partner to management on local accounting matters, like revenue recognition and accruals
  • Collaborate with Financial Shared Services to resolve accounting issues and optimize processes
  • Maintain compliance with local statutory requirements and US GAAP
  • Prepare and coordinate the local financial audit, ensuring timely completion and compliance with statutory requirements and filingIdentify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting workflows
  • Communicate the entity’s financial results and key accounting matters to management and stakeholders.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  •  6–8 years of experience in statutory accounting or financial reporting within a multinational organization
  • Strong knowledge of at least 2 local GAAPs (Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland) and US GAAP
  •  Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and shared services
  • Proficient Language skills in at least 2 languages (Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland).

Familiarity with audit coordination and tax compliance will help you excel in this role, but are not required.
