As a member of Finance team in Tokyo you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financials and risk management related to capital solvency. You will be responsible for the financials and capital solvency oversight of legal entities, ensuring compliance with prudential regulation. You will collaborate with various teams to support local regulatory reporting, directly impacting the firm's financials and regulatory reporting. You will leverage your financial and risk management expertise to manage capital adequacy and financial accuracy. Your work will ensure that the capital solvency and financial results are transparent to senior management and regulators, and that the firm's legal entities remain robust in a dynamic market environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee capital adequacy, financial reporting, analysis, control processes for assigned legal entities, ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Monitor and assess capital adequacy and regulatory risk including market risk and credit risk exposures, reporting to management
  • Prepare financial statements and local regulatory reports
  • Assess the potential impact on regulatory risk and capital solvency by new transactions in response to the request from business
  • Manage month-end currency hedge process
  • Support ad hoc queries and requests from management, auditors, or regulators
  • Coordinate with teams such as Product Controllers, Financial Controllers, Business Managers, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Treasury, Technology and Operations
  • Support new business initiatives
  • Seek better control procedures through cost/benefit analysis

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of risk management, finance, and/or accounting experience
  • Analytical and logical thinker with the ability to understand quantitative concepts relating to risk sensitivity, capital adequacy, Profit & Loss explanation, and stress scenario results etc
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of teams
  • Deep sense of accountability and ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong interest in an intellectually stimulating career within the Finance Industry
  • Native level Japanese and basic level English
    Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Understanding of financial products such as shorting, margin trade, security borrowing/lending, options, swaps, forwards, and futures, including those valuation
  • GAAP knowledge (Japan GAAP and/or US GAAP) is a plus
  • Prudential regulations and Regulatory reporting knowledge
  • Prior involvement in market risk projects, regulatory initiatives, or capital planning
  • Actuary, CFA, and/or FRM holders are a plus
  • Experienced candidates will have the opportunity for career advancement, including promotion to Vice President level, based on performance and demonstrated leadership capabilities
