Job Description

We require a junior Legal Counsel to work across Teya Legal team, but with experience in commercial and employment legal work. Responsibilities would include:

  • Working with senior members of the legal team to provide day-to-day advice to the Teya business on a broad range of issues, but with a particular focus on employment, commercial and corporate law matters.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements to support the wider business.
  • Assisting with a variety of employment matters, including implementation and administration of the Company's employee incentive schemes, recruitment, disciplinary and grievance matters, and employment tribunal proceedings.
  • Liaising with local counsel and local teams within the Teya network.
  • Supporting with building and improving processes in the team and how it works with the business.
  • Assisting with training stakeholders and leaders in respect of legal issues and best practice.

The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic team and be given the flexibility to work on all aspects of legal and regulatory matters.

Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor (0-1 PQE) in England and Wales
  • Fluency in English
  • An interest in the in-house legal world and the fintech industry
  • Hands-on attitude and ability to take initiative
  • Pragmatic and commercial approach to legal issues; ability to problem solve and think strategically in helping Teya achieve its goals
  • Solutions-oriented approach to legal and commercial risk
  • Effective communication skills and an ability to work effectively with the wider business
