Our Legal team is organized by division with dedicated lawyers for each area of expertise. Our integration within the studios allows us to focus on the specific needs of each game in order to effectively support the production teams. We are proud of the bond the legal team has created with the various Ubisoft teams and we strive to perpetuate and enrich this relationship of trust every day.

Within the Global Brand Protection & IP Portfolio team, you will play a key role in protecting and enhancing Ubisoft’s global trademark portfolio while partnering closely with creative, marketing, and business teams.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of trademark protection strategies for a global portfolio of brands;
  • Conduct trademark clearance searches, assess risks, and draft legal opinions to support brand creation and exploitation;
  • Manage trademark prosecution processes worldwide, including filings, office actions, renewals, and registrations, in coordination with external counsel;
  • Handle trademark disputes, including oppositions, cancellations, coexistence agreements, and pre-litigation matters (e.g., cease-and-desist letters);
  • Provide strategic and practical legal advice to marketing teams, studios, and business stakeholders, particularly on brand use, marketing validation, and risk mitigation;
  • Monitor legal and business developments in IP and the entertainment industry that may impact trademark strategy;
  • Support IP audits and due diligence in the context of external growth operations (e.g., acquisitions);
  • Ensure compliance with Ubisoft’s policies, risk tolerance, and internal processes;
  • Assist, support, accompany and train all creative teams with your legal colleagues to give them the best legal reflexes needed to boost their creativity;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal tools, templates, and processes related to trademark management.

Qualifications

Relevant experience

You have experience in intellectual property law, with a strong focus on trademarks, ideally in the entertainment, media, or video game industry and within an international environment.

Skills and knowledge

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to provide pragmatic, solution-oriented legal advice;
  • Proven negotiation and drafting skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment;
  • Comfortable collaborating with remote teams using tools such as Teams or Miro;
  • Rigorous, adaptable, and proactive, with excellent organizational skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus across diverse stakeholders;
  • Fluency in English required (additional languages are a plus).
