As part of our continued growth across Region Europe, we are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our international Legal team and provide high-quality, pragmatic legal support to our European business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer with early in-house experience who is excited to work in a fast-paced, international environment within the medical device industry.

About the role

As Legal Counsel for Region Europe (REU), you will work closely with business stakeholders and legal colleagues across multiple countries, providing commercial, practical, and risk-aware legal advice. You will play a key role in supporting sales contracting, corporate governance, and broader legal matters across the region, while collaborating with specialist global teams in Compliance, IP, and Regulatory Affairs.

Key responsibilities

As part of the Elekta Legal Team, you will:

  • Work closely with legal colleagues both within Region Europe & globally as part of a collaborative, high-energy international team

  • Act at all times with integrity, ethical judgment, and in line with Elekta’s values

  • Provide prompt, practical, and commercially focused legal advice to internal clients

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial contracts

  • Support litigation, arbitration, and dispute matters (with senior counsel support as appropriate)

  • Assist with acquisitions, divestitures, and corporate restructurings

  • Develop and implement best practices, templates, and training to streamline legal processes

  • Deliver legal training to business stakeholders

  • Participate actively in Elekta Legal forums and initiatives

Role-specific responsibilities (Region Europe):

  • Legal review and negotiation of sales contracts across REU in line with established processes

  • Provide full legal support to Elekta’s legal entities in REU, including employment and real estate matters (with external counsel where needed)

  • Support corporate governance and internal governance requirements, including signatory rights management

  • Conduct legal risk assessments and provide clear, actionable recommendations

  • Apply Elekta’s Contracting Excellence process consistently

  • Provide initial support on Compliance, IP, and Regulatory matters, liaising with specialist teams as required

  • Instruct and manage external counsel, ensuring compliance with internal fee and approval processes

  • Support other areas of the business as agreed with the Regional General Counsel to help manage capacity across the team

What we’re looking for

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Graduate of an English law school with strong academic credentials

  • Qualified lawyer and member in good standing of a local bar (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 2 years’ full-time practice as a licensed attorney, including in-house legal experience

  • Strong commercial and contract law foundation

  • Excellent English (written and verbal); additional European languages are an advantage

  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities

  • Commercial mindset with the ability to balance legal risk and business needs

  • Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working across functions and seniority levels

  • Confident working independently with minimal supervision

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, training, and presentation skills

  • Sound ethical judgment and a strong sense of ownership and accountability
