We are seeking a proactive, commercially minded Legal Counsel with a transactional background and strong foundation in real estate. - Collaborate with investment teams and senior stakeholders on transactional matters, providing legal advice and support on transactions across the business including new fund formations, finance transactions and work outs, real estate acquisitions and developments, joint ventures and corporate projects.
- Proactively manage and optimise the legal panel, fostering strategic partnerships with external counsel to ensure high-quality, cost-effective legal support.
- Stay abreast of and support legal and regulatory updates, contributing to the creation and implementation of internal legal frameworks, and governance and risk processes.
- Implement training and internal legal awareness initiatives, helping to embed best practices and improve understanding of legal risk across the business.
- Co-ordinating with the wider Octopus Group teams, including Group Legal & CoSec, Risk & Compliance, and Fund Finance. Support with the onboarding and supervision of legal secondees.
- Implementing legal innovation, such as AI and legal technology solutions.
